Strengths

From the research concept to the mass production launch. Through technical discussions, we help realize the high‑purity materials you need.

To realize new device performance, materials with the intended composition, purity, and shape are essential. Kojundo Chemical Laboratory is a materials manufacturer that produces and sells a wide range of high-purity materials, including metals, alloys, and inorganic compounds. In advanced fields such as semiconductors and electronic devices, we provide end-to-end support from material selection consultation, initial lab-level prototyping, improvements based on evaluation, to scale-up for mass production. We work with our engineers to explore solutions from the viewpoint of elements, manufacturing methods, processing, and analysis for challenges such as "unable to achieve the desired properties with off-the-shelf materials" or "unable to prototype due to equipment limitations or regulatory constraints."

Choose from over 3,000 product varieties. If it doesn't exist, we can make it

Strength 01

Supporting material selection to match target properties, from thin film materials to metals and inorganic compounds

We offer over 3,000 varieties of thin film materials, metals, and inorganic compounds, including sputtering targets (PVD materials) and semiconductor precursors (CVD/ALD materials). We inquire about your applications, deposition methods, and other requirements to assist in selecting candidate materials. When catalog products cannot meet your requirements, we consider the factors such as combinations of elements, compositions, and forms, to develop and synthesize special composite materials. From searching for off-the-shelf products to prototyping new materials, we expand your options for material consideration.

Accelerate your development by connecting manufacturing, processing, and analysis

Strength 02

We handle all necessary processes in-house, from melting, sintering, synthesis, and refining to processing and analysis.

We have a wide range of in-house technologies and equipment, including metal melting and alloying, ceramic sintering, synthesis of inorganic and organometallic compounds, distillation and purification, machining, bonding, and analytical evaluation. Because we can seamlessly connect processes from material synthesis to evaluation, you can efficiently refine prototype conditions and move to the next phase of development. We also support tests that require expensive equipment and operations that are difficult for customers to handle in-house due to regulations. In addition to outsourcing all processes at once, you can also consult us for only the parts missing from your R&D workflow, such as "analysis only" or "processing only."

From 1 g or single-piece prototypes to mass production transition

Strength 03

We accommodate small lots for initial evaluation, and applying evaluation results to the next prototype and scale-up

We seamlessly support the entire process, from small-lot prototyping starting at 1 g or single-piece units, to scale-up manufacturing according to each your development stage. Our representatives inquire about your research objectives, required properties, evaluation methods, and future production conditions, and then work with you to determine optimal material specifications and manufacturing methods. We promote material development with mass production in mind, incorporating evaluation results from prototypes into the next set of process and design conditions. Our sales representatives also engage in specialized technical dialogue and help organize challenges between research and production. You can consult with us from the initial stages when "specifications are not yet finalized" or you "want to try materials that don't exist on the market.

Stable quality and supply supporting reproducibility of evaluation results

Strength 04

Minimizing lot-to-lot variation through change management and raw material procurement cultivated in the semiconductor field

In R&D, even slight variations in materials affect evaluation results and device performance. We thoroughly implement strict change management required in the semiconductor and electronic device fields, careful investigation when issues arise, and raw material procurement from reliable suppliers, supporting stable quality and supply. By continuously delivering highly reproducible materials, we contribute to isolating conditions and improving evaluation reliability. Our long-term relationships with universities, public research institutions, and major manufacturers are also supported by our consistent commitment to quality.
